We’re excited to welcome Giuseppe Amato as our Pastoral Intern for the year. Giuseppe will be working at Waverly this summer through May 2017. In these first few months he’ll focus on getting to know folks, providing some social gatherings for our youth, and preaching and leading worship.
Hers’s a little about Giuseppe:
I am excited and grateful to be joining Waverly as a pastoral intern. I have appreciated the beauty and warmth I have seen within this community so far and am looking forward to getting to know everyone better.
In Boise, ID and McMinnville, OR I was a youth pastor for five-and-a-half years. In Osaka, Japan I was a missionary and an English teacher. These were incredibly formative experiences for me that I will always be grateful for. They were also within settings that lacked openness and concern for justice and peace.
I am pursuing a Master of Divinity at Claremont School of Theology and am seeking ordination through the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This internship is a vital part of my degree program and training for further ministry.
My spouse Stephanie and I have been married for five years. She is a middle school counselor in Vancouver, WA. She is committed to the thriving of others and has emboldened me to deepen my own commitment to such efforts.
I seek to grow as an agent of God’s healing in the world and as a contributor toward the abundant life of all. I’m excited to do this work together with Waverly in the coming year!
